I have just surf on the internet reading some articles on wordpress.A word jumped into my view:XOOPs.
What is XOOPS?
XOOPS is an extensible, OO (Object Oriented), easy to use dynamic web content management system written in PHP. XOOPS is the ideal tool for developing small to large dynamic community websites, intra company portals, corporate portals, weblogs and much more. Read the All about XOOPS page for more details.
Oh,yes it is a CMS(content management system)
As far as know,it is very popular in Taiwan where most people use Xoops as the basic tool to build a website.
- Actually,most of the website application is a CMS.Information is the theme of this era and content is the core of the website.
- Xoops is an open source project which means that almost everyone who is willing and capable can devote his time to the improvement on Xoops in modules,themes,yaxs etc.However, as far as I know that most of the website code in China is open(Pirate?-_-)
- It is very easy to build a website with Xoops since there are dozens of modules and themes developed by others to use.
However,I do not have the spare time and the necessity to build an website with Xoops.For me,wordpress is enough!
