About on 19 May,a group students from American will come to shanghai as participants of a program: 2006 Shanghai Summer Program, China May 22 - July 22, 2006

Students from the oversea come to Shanghai to for tourism.

I have sent a email to the teacher who in charge of part of the activity to apply for a volunteer,for two reasons:

1. To gain my life experience dealing with foreign people.The life on campus is a little bit boring.Why not have some fun?
2. To practice my oral English and interpretation.Though the students have their own schedule and itinerary and maybe have little time to share,it will be a impressive experience for me.

Let’s us dive deeper into this program:

1. Who organized the program?Though the program proclaims that it is a students summer program,it is a tour acitivity in fact.Then,who organized the program?The Professors of the GA and SJTU?
2. What is the benefit of the program?
1. Tourism.Catering,sightseeing,interesting courses etc
2. Activities.Both GA and SJTU can show to the outside that they have sponsored the College students exchange summer program or sth like that.
3. GDP.Tourism has been a hot industry since the improvement of the transport and communication with Cash flow brought to Airplane,resturant,historical interests and seneric sites etc.However,as a student program,it is not benefitable as other collective or business tourism program.
4. Fame.As for GA,it is only a student program oriented toward tourism.However,SJTU need the promotion of its internation reputation as part of its internation strategy.
3. How many efforts should be made to ensure the success of the program?
1. Broadcast & Advertisement is needed to attract the students.
2. Tourism.Schedule the sites and journey of the program.
3. Communication with unniversities oversea.
4. Feedback and summary

Inspiration:

1. Exchange is good.Taken this program as a case,it will not only benefit the students oversea to have a impression the mystery China,enjoy the traditional Chinese food,learn some Chinese course such as Chinese Martial etc,but also promote the development of the tourism.It is even benefitial for me to practice my oral english,if I have the chance.:)
2. Relationship is important.How can you organize the activity without a relationship with the professors oversea?Relationship need accumulation.
